
After our morning trip to the Rotorua lakefront we headed up to end the day at Lake Okareka. This was the last place I had photographed before the lockdown so it was great to return.

The lack of disturbance along the boardwalk seemed to have encouraged the birds to approach more closely and there were huge flocks of Canada Geese and Paradise Ducks on the calm water.

A good mob of young Welcome Swallows were hawking above and a couple of Pied Stilts patrolled the shoreline.
