The 4+ weeks of COVID-19 lockdown in New Zealand was an interesting experience. For an introvert who finds the noise of the world stressful and prefers to sit in a swamp watching birds there was plenty to enjoy.

It was a lovely time for our family to be all together which is usually a rare and brief opportunity. As an essential worker I got out of the house and commuted to work as usual but really enjoyed the quiet roads. Work was stressful but the challenge was exciting and a great jolt out of the rut of routine.

Non-work time was restricted to home and gave a chance for some of those things “that I’ll get around to when I get a chance”. One of those was setting up a bird hide in the backyard. These projects are always ones of development and I have written a series of blog posts on the steps of this journey. This master post is simply to bring them together in an easily accessible form.
