With the full moon at perigee, it is closer to the earth than it will be until Sept 2015. We had lovely clear skies in Auckland last night when attending David Doubilet’s Nat Geo Live presentation on his underwater photography so I was looking forward to trying to get a picture this evening. Clouds have made it a bit of a challenge but I managed to grab a shot through a gap.
D800 with Nikon 500mm + 2x teleconverter solidly locked down on a huge Sirui R4203L tripod with a Really Right Stuff BH55 ballhead. Focussed in live-view and shot with cable release in mirror lock-up mode to minimise risk of vibrations. 1/200s f14 ISO 400
Processed in Adobe Lightroom and then Photoshop using Nik ColorEfex Pro4 tonal contrast to bring out the textures.
