I have written before on Photos are where you find them and a recent stunning weekend in Dunedin (Dunners) with a group of keen wildlife photographers again reminded me of that fact. At the end of the weekend we had a few hours wait at Dunedin airport before our flight to Auckland. This gave a chance to relax and chat after the tight schedule of the previous 4 days and as always my eyes were looking for shapes, patterns and reflections.
Dunedin airport has a lovely waiting area with expansive views over the runway and surrounding valley. As the light levels dropped the reflection of the lights balanced with the outdoor light and made a picture when the reflection was reversed back to readability. Seeing an aeroplane taxiing out to take off I hoped that its trajectory would match the reflected lines. Framing up an image to get the reflected lights and lines legible and lined up was challenging and needed me to hold position for some time before the plane appeared, taking off at the perfect angle to achieve what I had hoped for.
Serendipitous nuggets of treasure hiding in plain site if you care to look and see always bring me inordinate pleasure.
