Wingspan

Just after Christmas we took a couple of our regular Christmas visitors to see the flying display of the NZ Falcons at Wingspan National Bird of Prey Centre. This was their first visit and they came away having had a great time getting up close to the birds and learning about their biology and some falconry information. It is very impressive to see the birds fly and the fact that that are more endangered than our national bird, the Kiwi, makes them even more impressive. It was the best turnout of visitors for the flying display that I have ever seen and great to see that level of support. Rotorua is a popular holiday destination and it’s good to see Wingspan up there on the list of places to visit for holidaymakers. The attached GoPro video gives a camera perspective of the flight and the 3 final shots of Atareta in this post were taken during this flight using a Nikon D810 and Nikon 80-400 AFS lens.
