Excited to have had my image voted as the winner in the over 19 age category of the Rotorua Museum Photo Competition held in conjunction with the touring Wildlife Photographer of theYear exhibition. Thanks to everyone who supported my photo with their vote.

Confirmation the 4-5fps of the D800 doesn't prevent it from capturing good action shots! Having initially thought that I would mostly use it for landscapes I find that I am frequently choosing to trade fps for the higher resolution because of the cropping flexibility it offers with birds at different ranges. Focussing also seems to be a step up from the D3s which was already rather amazing.
