Having spent most of the weekend servicing my motorcycle we went up to Mount Maunganui today to see if the Pohutukawas were starting to come into bloom. I decided to travel light with the fuji X100 and iPhone only. I knew I would regret leaving the 500mm and D800 and was reminded when I saw a Reef heron and a Kingfisher which would have made great subjects. The Pohutukawas weren’t blooming too much yet but there were some good banks of mixed flowers and some decent clouds to play with landscapes despite our midday timing.
