Another subject at Sandspit was a White-faced Heron I found fishing in a small current between 2 rocks. I found a spot on a marina pontoon that I could lay down and get a decent low angle and background and waited for something interesting to happen. Fishing didn’t seem too successful but after a while the heron looked agitated and hopped off in a hurry with raised hackles.

Looking through the viewfinder I wasn’t sure of the cause until I saw a begging fledgling arrive. It had obviously not been having much success and was hoping for a handout from Mum or Dad. It got tough love instead.
