Major kudos the Fuji for continuing to support the Fuji X100 after the release of the X100s. With the new firmware update the X100 now has a number of improvements that bring it closer to it’s replacement. Start-up time, focus speed, closer focus before having to engage macro mode, improved manual focus with focus peaking – it’s like getting a new camera for free! I had been tempted by the X100s but wasn’t prepared to trade off the ninjaness of my black X100 as the new one is only available in the retro-Leica silver and black.

While this could be seen as a poor marketing move by Fuji it is an industry-leading way of cultivating brand loyalty. I am hugely impressed.
